Katie and Joe’s wedding was beautiful every-which way I turned I got to know them during their Engagement Session at Falls Bridge, where they introduced me to one of my new favorite locations, the Belmont Mansion. For their wedding ceremony and reception, they chose Reading Goggleworks. Goggleworks is a combination art gallery, community center, and studio space that I’ve always considered to be one of the most impressive urban-renewal makeovers I’ve ever seen. In keeping with the eclectic urban-art theme, Katie and Joe decorated with several impressive handmade projects and a few touches from Katie’s recent trip to India. Family contributions were many, including their officiant: Katie’s Gramma, who is a judge. Katie got ready at her grandmother’s lovely house in Reading, which was all a-bloom with daffodils and other spring flowers. I shot with Ken Staab of Kenneth Staab Photography and their videographer was Collin Welch of First Floor Films, and Rachel Dirksen served as their wedding coordinator.
Their first look (at the Reading Public Museum) was beautiful. They couldn’t have asked for a more fabulous spring day. It was as if the whole park was celebrating, bursting with flowers and sunshine. With friends and family gathered around, Katie and Joe met up, shed a few happy tears, and walked off for a few photos under the spring sun.
The Reading GoggleWorks is an incredible venue and a great choice for Katie & Joe.
Check out the grins! The union of Katie and Joe inspired big grins and happy tears among all of their friends.
Desserts By Design brought their A-game with a whole table full of some of the most elaborate and tempting cakes and cupcakes I’ve ever seen.
One of the sweetest things about this wedding was Katie’s surprise inclusion of her mom in the parent dance. Mom was thrilled.
